How people actually pick.
Start with the light
North-facing rooms pull the grey out of a colour; a west-facing Dubai living room in the afternoon pushes everything warmer. Look at the sample in the room it is going in, at the time of day you use it.
Floors go quieter than you think
A tone that looks safe on a small chip can be a lot of colour across sixty square metres. Most people end up one step paler than their first choice, which is why the pale group is the biggest.
Walls can take more
The one saturated colour in the deck earns its place on a single wall, a vanity or a splashback rather than underfoot. Used that way it warms a room instead of taking it over.
